Puppies!

What a wonderful way to start my blog: posting pictures of puppies that will melt your heart.  These are pictures of little Akita puppies about six weeks old.  I had the amazing opportunity to be there while they were being born and help in the process.  When Nala (the mother) was pregnant, I always said that there is no way I would be there when the puppies are born.  I thought it would be too disgusting to watch; especially because I am grossed out by blood, placentas, and other bodily liquids/organs.  But come crunch time, the only thing that was on my mind was making sure that Nala and the puppies were healthy and happy.  And because I was there, I was able to help clear little Nemo's airways and save his life.  It's strange how certain situations can make you forget completely about your fears and discomforts and force you to focus on what is really important.  I know I'm sounding pretty cheesy, but this story is coming from a girl who used to burst into tears when she saw a dead rabbit on the side of the road.  I've always had a soft heart when it comes to animals.

Enough of the sappy stories.  These puppies are the CUTEST little things. They are so sweet and playful.  I wish I could post all of the thousands of pictures I have of them, but that may be a little excessive, so here are just a few.  Enjoy!

This is Arrow. I love how only one ear sticks up!
